The Grand Canyon is an ever-changing marvel, always worth another visit.
One of the highlights of our trip was spotting a California condor soaring through the canyon, scanning for food. It was the first time I had ever seen one in the wild—the largest flying bird in North America, boasting an impressive wingspan of nearly ten feet.
What struck me most about the Grand Canyon was its tranquility. Standing at the edge of this immense chasm, formed over millions (perhaps billions) of years, I felt incredibly small yet deeply connected to the vastness of time and nature.
We stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge, just steps from the rim—an unbeatable location. Each sunrise and sunset painted the sky in breathtaking colors, leaving us in awe.
One morning, my daughter and I took a quiet walk along the rim to the historic El Tovar Hotel, a grand 1905 landmark reminiscent of Yosemite’s Ahwahnee Hotel. Sipping coffee with a view of the canyon was the perfect way to start the day.
February is a good time to go and considered the off-season, meaning fewer crowds and a more peaceful experience. |
