In order to transform the Issue,
we must first understand the Challenges
In the United States, 25% of African Americans do NOT possess a valid Photo Identification.
The numbers for passport ownership are even more staggering.
The common factors begin here:
2. Ability to navigate the application process
3. Belief that travel outside of the country is possible or affordable,
as well as understanding how to book, plan, and pay for international destinations.
4. Qualifying documentation needed to obtain the passport.
This includes birth certificate & social security card,
For Minors: Photo ID of Parents is required along with in-person or Notarized Written Authorization of BOTH parents.
**This can appear as an impossibility for some woman, especially when many families are single parent households.
Our children have the ability to dream bigger than any of us can imagine
and it's our responsibility to position & empower them to fulfill those dreams.
It starts with something as simple - yet as complex - as their mother owning a valid passport.
