FAQ Who does this event benefit? This Gala is to raise funds for Alternatives.Yes, parent ministry of Alternatives Laurel Highland Pregnancy Centers which has offices in Connellsville and Uniontown, PA. Alternatives.Yes has been assisting mothers and families for more than 30 years. We provide ultrasounds, emotional support, physical resources, educational classes and referrals to women from pregnancy through the baby's first birthday. Alternatives.Yes is a life affirming center that aims to equip and empower mothers to make the best choices for themselves and their babies. All services are offered 100% free of charge.
Who should attend? Anyone with a heart for pro-life ministry who would like to learn more about our center and would be willing to prayerfully consider supporting us financially--if God so leads you. Because the purpose of this night is to raise funds for the center and because seating is limited, we ask that children do not attend.
What should I wear? This may be a gala but ball gowns and tuxedos are not required. Anything from Sunday Best to Cocktail Attire or Semi-Formal would be appropriate.
What should I bring? Bring your appetite, your spouse (if you have one) and an expectant heart. You may also want to bring a checkbook/credit card should you choose to make a donation.
What is the menu? The final menu is still being decided, but it will be a full course buffet. We will post the menu when it is finalized. If you have any dietary restrictions please reach out and we will see if they can be accommodated.
Why did you change venues? Last year's Gala was a great success and we owe that in no small part to the wonderful venue that hosted. This year's venue is centrally located right in the heart of Connellsville. We hope this convenience will allow us to welcome more like-minded friends and we are confident that it's elegance and amenities will wow you every bit as much as last year!
Who is this year's speaker? This year's speaker is Kurt Kondrich. Kurt is a "DADvocate" from the Pittsburgh area. When Kurt and his wife were expecting their daughter Chloe, they were pressured to get prenatal testing because they were older parents. They refused because they knew they would love and cherish their child no matter what. They later learned about the high rate of abortion for children diagnosed with Down syndrome prenatally.
Now grown, Chloe and Kurt have traveled the world, visited the White House, and spoken at the UN to spread the message that all life is precious with the theme of "Embrace Don't Erase."
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves" -- Proverbs 31:8
