The Children's Museum

Fall Newsletter

The Children’s Museum is home to over 100 resident education ambassadors – our animals, which are living in a happy environment with new enclosures. Pat the Chinchilla turned 24 this year. There are two rabbits named Smokey and Cocoa that are fan favorites along with Stanley, the Burmese Python. Matilda our Radiated Tortoise who arrived at the museum in 1987, has a new roommate, a Russian Tortoise named Verne. We have so many more animals waiting for you to come visit.

We are in the process of refreshing and updating a Science-Based Lab Exhibit in the Early Learning Room. Soon children will be inspired to think like a scientists while dressed in lab coats and goggles with a variety of hand-on activities to spark their curiosity and adventure.

Starting October 17th, we will be offering a six week Smart Start Learning Adventure program for two groups: for children ages 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers and for children 3-5 years and their caregivers. Early learners will build foundational skills in STEAM, fine and gross motor skills, social, emotional and literacy skills while having fun!

We are open Wednesday-Sunday through the winter with many new exhibits.
