Safe Harbor is a homeless shelter run by the Salvation Army in Bloomington. Each month we want to raise $400 to fund a meal prepared by Wesley volunteers. This is a very attainable goal because of the awareness and generosity of Wesley Church!

$400 cares for those in need!

Safe Harbor works with clients to identify barriers and move toward self-sufficiency. Safe Harbor provides a safe, warm environment to sleep, storage of personal belongings, breakfast and dinner (some non-residents receive meals), shower and laundry facilities, and case management services, including access and referral to local resources. Safe Harbor also provides clients with clothes and personal hygiene products when available.

Wesley partners with Safe Harbor on the third Thursday of each month to provide the evening meal for clients. Several groups from the church take turns providing meals throughout the year. Much of the funding for these meals comes from a unique offering taken by our youth group, Surge, called the Souperbowl of Caring Sunday. The Surge ‘Souper Bowl Sunday’ collection this year was $689!

It’s time to start cleaning out your basements and closets!

Mark your calendars for Monday, April 17th, through Saturday, April 22nd!

Times for dropping off your donations at the Interstate Center are:

Monday, April 17th, from 12-9:00 pm

Tuesday, April 18th-Thursday April 20th, from 9:00 am- 9:00 pm

Donations will not be accepted on Friday, the 21st.

The sale will take place on Saturday, April 22nd, from 8:00 am-2:00 pm, with a bag sale starting at 1:00 pm.
