First HeART of the Dragon Art Show Overwhelming Success

Students from all four schools showcased their original artwork in a variety of mediums at the JCS system-wide art exhibit last month, aptly named HeART of the Dragon.

Over 450 students and their families attended the opening reception and were able to view amazing creativity and artwork on newly purchased display panels!

During the reception, students completed an art scavenger hunt and younger students were able to take home coloring pages designed by JHS art students. The JHS Art Club also made beautiful pins to give to all of the art students. Additionally, they helped organize and set up the show.

All of the artwork displayed was created in classes taught by our inspiring team of art teachers: Ms. Liz Wheeler (JES), Ms. Lindsay Newbury (JA), Ms. Jessica Bowden (JMS) and Ms. Miranda Sweeney (JHS). The event was an overwhelming success!

“We are so glad we had a chance to celebrate talented JCS artists,” says Ms. Wheeler. “Congratulations to all the students who had their artwork chosen for the HeART of the Dragon Art Show. We can’t wait to do it again next year!”
