Sister Bay Fall Fest Parade Rules & Regulations

The following rules are intended to assure that everyone attending the parade, whether a participant or spectator, has an enjoyable, safe experience. These rules will be strictly enforced. Non-compliance will result in elimination from this year’s parade and potential future participation.

Applicants seeking to participate in the 2026 Sister Bay Fall Fest Parade (the “Parade”)  must agree to all Parade rules & regulations herein. Your signature on the Application confirms your acceptance of the rules in the Parade application and serves as a waiver of liability and an indemnification agreement between an Applicant and the Sister Bay Advancement Association (SBAA), Village of Sister Bay, and any individuals associated with these parties. It also serves as your agreement to make all of your participants aware of all the rules & regulations.

  • To participate in the Parade, an application must be submitted to the SBAA by the due date listed on the application. The SBAA reserves the right to accept or deny any application.
  • All SBAA events and parades are family friendly. No obscene language, provocative behavior, or disruptive demonstrations will be tolerated.
  • Signs, banners, and handouts are allowed but must be approved by SBAA. Any promotional materials not approved by those stated above will need to be removed prior to the Parade's start.
  • All candy and other handouts must be handed to spectators. NO THROWING OF ITEMS WILL BE PERMITTED.
  • Confetti of any kind is not permitted.
  • The SBAA reserves the right to dictate the order of the Parade line-up and/or move entrants within the line-up.
  • Parade line-up begins at 9AM, and the Parade beings promptly at 11AM. All participants MUST be in line by 10AM.
  • Any misconduct during line-up shall result in your entry not participating in the Parade. Volunteers, Parade officials, and other Parade participants must be treated with respect.
  • Any individual who operates a moving vehicle during the Parade must possess a valid driver's license and must be over the age of 18.
  • All entrants must have a “spotter.” It is the spotter's responsibility to observe the riders on the float and the walkers for any sign of a problem and notify the driver to stop immediately.
  • Participants are NOT permitted to jump on and/or off any float or vehicle during the Parade.
  • The maximum number of participants for each Parade entry is 15, with the exception of school marching bands and other performance-based entries or unless approved by SBAA.
  • Political groups, candidates, and their supporters must participate in good taste. We ask that all political organizations and candidates remember that this is not a political parade. It is a community parade for families and children. You are not permitted to distribute written flyers or campaign materials along the Parade route.
  • For safety reasons there will be NO firecrackers or loud, popping noises allowed in the Parade, with the exception of emergency vehicle sirens and preapproved entries.
  • No Parade participant may be allowed to have a firearm, loaded or unloaded, at any time.
  • No smoking or alcoholic beverages are allowed by entry participants during the Parade route. No alcoholic beverages may be handed out to spectators during the Parade.
  • If your entry includes any animals, please ensure they are confined, appropriately controlled or on a leash to protect them and others along the route.
  • If SBAA receives any complaints relating to any Parade entry at any time before/during/after the Parade, SBAA shall have the right to investigate and remove that Parade entry from future parades and/or events.

SBAA reserves the right to remove from the Parade (and ban from future parades), at any time, any entrant not conforming to rules and regulations or any entrant refusing to follow instructions of Parade officials. By signing this, you are agreeing that every participant in your entry will follow the above outlined rules.
