| Keep Collier Beautiful (KCB) invites Collier County residents to register for the Bay Days – Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The event will run from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at select beaches, canals, and waterways in Collier County.
Keep Collier Beautiful is an umbrella organization that brings together government organizations, businesses, and civic groups to protect Collier County’s environment by cleaning up litter and debris from local waterways. Many local teachers take the opportunity to bring their classes out for volunteer hours and hands-on learning about ecology. This is also an excellent opportunity for friends and families to spend time with each other while helping the environment.
The Great American Cleanup is an annual event initiated by Keep America Beautiful more than 20 years ago and has become the nation’s most extensive community improvement program. As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, KCB carries on the spirit of this event to Collier County and organizes the Great American Cleanup on various beaches, canals, and waterways here in our county.
This cleanup event is essential for protecting the environment and educating people on proper waste disposal and environmental awareness. This event also prompts individuals to care for their environment and be responsible citizens by conducting grassroots community service projects that engage volunteers, local businesses, educational institutions, and civic leaders in their local area.
Interested site captains are encouraged to email cleanup@keepcollierbeautiful.com to confirm your participation. The final list of locations will be posted at www.keepcollierbeautiful.com.
