April Sette has been working with social media and digital storytelling since 2008 and understands that effective communication today is more important than ever.

We are living in what many call a ‘news desert,’ where local stories, community voices, and real-life impact are often overlooked. That’s why it’s critical that organizations learn how to tell their own stories—because no one can tell them better than the people living them every day.”

Social media is not “free.” Creating meaningful content requires intention, consistency, and strategy. When it's done effectively and efficiently, social media can become one of the most powerful tools for awareness, advocacy, trust-building, and long-term growth.

This workshop series was created to simplify the process and help organizations stay in motion without feeling overwhelmed.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FREE TO NJACP MEMBERS

YOU WILL HAVE HOMEWORK: Each session builds upon the next, breaking down complex concepts into manageable, real-world strategies that participants can actually use. Your homework assignments are designed to help you apply what you learn while also helping you get YOUR WORK DONE.

This is not about posting for the sake of posting. This is about learning how to effectively tell your story, build trust within your community, advocate year-round, and create meaningful visibility for your organization and the individuals you support.

The final workshop includes hands-on training using your phone, simple production equipment, lighting, and microphones so you can confidently begin capturing authentic content directly from your organization.

Advocacy is no longer seasonal—it’s ongoing. People need to see who you are, what you do, and why it matters.

I can’t be everywhere. But you can be where you are—and together, we can build a stronger voice, stronger visibility, and greater impact for the communities you serve.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to meeting everyone throughout the series. See You Soon, April!
