Here is a quick overview:
STEP 1: Sign up for the challenge by Monday, January 22nd to receive your toolkit from SMFR. These toolkits will be sent to participating schools by Friday, January 26. Inside your toolkit, you'll find instructional videos on Hands-Only CPR as well as a Kahoot! link designed for teachers to use in the classroom, but this is optional and not required for your participation, as our visit will teach the students and faculty everything they need. STEP 2: Our Hands-Only CPR Month is happening from February 1 to 29. When you receive your toolkit, you will be asked to sign up for a day to have personnel from South Metro Fire Rescue and the South Metro Safety Foundation on-site at your school with CPR mannequins. During lunch, off-periods, or homeroom, students and staff will be asked to find the CPR booth and perform hands-only CPR on mannequins for 1-2 minutes. STEP 3: SMFR will keep track of how many minutes of CPR is performed during the day we are there, and we will announce the winners in March. The school with the highest total of minutes of Hands-Only CPR will be our winner! |
