Recent reports indicate that U.S. House Republicans' debt limit plan would threaten critical funding to Virginia's senior meal delivery services — which keep seniors healthy, fed, and independent in their homes. Thanks to senior nutrition programs established by Congress through the Older Americans Act, state agencies and local community-run programs like Meals on Wheels provide more than 1.9 million home-delivered meals to Virginia seniors each year. 


We should never let hyper-partisanship cause seniors to go hungry. I'm looking to hear from Virginians who either have themselves been served or have a loved one who has been supported by these programs.
