Welcome to the registration form for the Circular Brașov - workshop (consolid8 festival side event)!

Over 80% of the global GDP is generated in cities. Any urban growth comes with resource consumption and waste generation, along with a whole set of challenges regarding their impact on the environment and citizens. In the absence of a sustainable vision, as urbanization increases, so do these challenges. However, at the confluence of business, residents, and governmental actors, opportunities can be created for transforming the linear, consumption-based model into a circular one, limiting the impact right from the beginning of processes and throughout, including material collection, waste processing, energy and natural resource conservation, as well as new business models and product design that incorporate circular thinking.

During this 2.5-hour workshop, we will explore together with these actors a variety of ideas and opportunities that address the challenges Brașov faces in the mentioned areas, aiming to spark energy for implementation among different actors, whether it's about business ideas, collaborative community projects, or local public policies, including in synergy with the objective of achieving the European Green Capital Award for Brașov. Circular economy is a concept based on the principle of utilizing resources in a way that minimizes waste and maximizes economic and social benefits by transforming production, distribution, and consumption systems to be more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
